- Yin and Yang (dark-bright, negative-positive) is a concept of dualism in ancient Chinese philosophy.

- Yang, by contrast, is fast, hard, solid, focused, hot, dry, and active; and is associated with fire, sky, the sun, masculinity, and daytime.
- According to Yin Yang philosophy, everything has both yin and yang aspects (for instance, a shadow cannot exist without light or dark).
